Florence, one of the nine world capitals of wine, presents the first edition of WineTown Firenze, an international
meeting with high quality wine producers.
It takes place from September 30th to October 3, 2010. Four days in search of the tastes and flavors that wine
and its countryside have to offer.
Visitors visiting the Cloisters of the 25 buildings in the historical center will taste great wines and be entertained by concerts, theater performances and other forms of entertainment, offering guests a joyful celebration of art, culture and entertainment. On Friday, October 1st tastings are from 3.00 pm to 11.00 p.m..
On Saturday, October 2nd from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m..Shows start at 7.00 p.m..
Palazzo Pitti, will host the wine and tastings of the others Great Wine Capitals (Bilbao, Bordeaux, Christchurch,
Cape Town, Mainz, Mendoza, Oporto and San Francisco). On Friday and Saturday tastings will be held from 11 am to 11 pm. Shows start at 7.00 pm.
Over 40 events will accompany you into a full immersion in the wine world through exhibitions, round tables,
games, meetings and dinners.
Three dinners with the Great Chefs of Pagliere in V.le Machiavelli, during the days of Thursday September
30th, Friday October 1st and Saturday October 2nd. Reservations must be made to participate.
At the 3 WineMARKETS in Piazza Pitti, Piazza Repubblica and Piazza SS Annunziata it is possible to purchase
the wines offered at the tastings. Each WineMARKET only sells the wine of neighboring cloisters. They are
open from 10:00 am -11.00 pm on Thursday September 30th, Friday October 1st and Saturday October 2nd.
The tastings must be done using a rechargeable WineCARD charged with € 10, that can be picked up at one of the cloisters in the 25 buildings. They can be recharged up until 11.00 pm by using one the machines located in the WinePOINTS in some squares and at the WineMarket in Palazzo Pitti . The WineCARD Gold also offers free admission to affiliated museums, parking and use of ATAF bus and tram services.
