Verona 8-12 April 2010
Everything is ready for the 44th edition of Vinitaly, the International Wine and Spirits Exhibition in Verona set to open in the mark of trust and business. The Sol, dedicated to virgin and extra virgin olive oil, Agrifood Club and Enolitech events are also ready.

The “five days” dedicated to wine will be officially inaugurated today at 10.30 in the presence of Luca Zaia , Minister for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies as well as the new Governor of the Veneto Region. The Mayor of Verona, Flavio Tosi, the President of the Province, Giovanni Miozzi, and the Agriculture Councillor of the Abruzzo Region, Mauro Febbo, will also be in attendance.
Our objective is to consolidate our leadership, having been the only exhibition organiser to have closed 2009 with a financial statement in the black,” said Ettore Riello, President of VeronaFiere. “And the strategy passes from the continuous improvement of infrastructures to the integrated offering of innovative services to encourage trade by the Country System.”
And it is precisely internationalisation that will guide the Vinitaly World Tour, having already visited India and the United States twice, and now ready for the next stop-offs in Russia, China, Japan, Korea and Singapore.
“The signs,” said Giovanni Mantovani, Director General, “are positive and expectations suggest confirmation of the visitor equilibrium achieved in 2009, with significant international attendance.”
Vinitaly also embraces quality Made in Italy products with SOL, the International Exhibition of Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil (www.veronafiere.it/sol), where, on 9 April, the first planning agreement will be signed for the promotion of Italian extra virgin olive oil in Italy and abroad.

This historic agreement, which will have strategic importance for the promotion and valorisation of Italian olive oil production, will be signed by Adolfo Urso, Vice-Minister for economic development, and Massimo Gargano, President of Unaprol, the organisation of olive oil operators that shares the ambitious project with VeronaFiere.
Thanks to scheduling alongside Sol and Agrifood Club, lastly, visitors to Vinitaly, particularly those form abroad, can also see the best in olive oil production and Italian agro-foods, while Enolitech ensures updates about all the new technologies and avant-garde equipment for production, packaging, transport, sales and tasting.
