Civil Ceremonies

Palazzo Vecchio Wedding Hall

The magnificent historical Town Hall, Palazzo Vecchio, was the ancient residence of the Medici family and dominates with its tower the wonderful Piazza della Signoria, one of the most famous Italian squares. Civil wedding ceremonies are held in the Sala Rossa (Red Hall), once the bedroom of Cosimo De Medici, which is so called for its sumptuos red furniture, drapes and ornaments typical of the Reinassance décor.

Catholic Ceremonies

There are lots of beautiful and historical churches inside Florence and in the surroundings available for your religiuos ceremony: the impressive churches located in the very heart of town, near Ponte Vecchio and Arno river which are rich of important works of art, wonderful mosaic glass windows and prominent façades or the more intimate country chapels which offer breathtaking view of the city and the Chianti hills.

Other religions

Protestant Ceremonies can be arranged in the Churches of St. Mark and St. James located in the city centre of Florence.

Spouses are asked to complete some requirements to obtain the permission to get married and need to be civilly married either in their home country or in Italy.

A marvellous Synagogue is available in Florence to get married under the Chuppah. A letter of an Orthodox Rabbi declaring that both spouses are Jewish and have not been married before is needed.

FIESOLE

The ancient Etruscan small town of Fiesole is one of the oldest towns in Tuscany and still preserves the remains of its ancient walls and the Roman amphiteather.

Fiesole is located just a few minutes from the city centre of Florence on top of one of the famous Florentine hills and dominates the city offering the option of holding the reception in either Fiesole country area or Florence itself.

Fiesole, with its ancient castles and villas, is perfect for your wedding ceremony and reception which can be arranged also at the gorgeous 17th Century Villa that was the setting of the famous movies “Tea with Mussolini” and “Room with a View”.

Civil ceremonies are performed in the historic town hall, Palazzo Vescovile located in the central panoramic square and Catholic ceremonies can be held in the intimate Renaissance Catholic Church with stunning arches and frescoes which is located on the hillside overlooking both Fiesole and Florence.
